We, the undersigned, believe that the Military Detention Facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba should remain open. It is a safe, secure, and humane facility where the United States can and should detain terrorists. We do not support bringing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his fellow terrorists onto U.S. soil, which would expose American citizens to an unnecessary security risk, give terrorists the benefit of Constitutional protections, and cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
We believe that as long as the United States continues to send young men and women into harm's way against Al Qaeda and its allies, the U.S. Military should continue to operate Guantanamo Bay as a detention and interrogation center. When we try terrorists, it should be in military commissions in the state-of-the-art courtroom, which was built and is currently being used for that purpose, at Guantanamo Bay. Keeping Gitmo open is crucial for our national security, consistent with America's values and is supported by the vast majority of the American people. We urge Congress to listen to us
